1. Controller

2. Data stored on your device
Youmotion processes emotion selections, intensity, nuance, timestamps, optional notes, optional belief and guiding-belief text, reminder settings, language and display preferences, and locally derived history and insights. These data can contain sensitive information about your emotional state.
The data are stored in the app's private local storage to provide the functions you request. We cannot access or retrieve this journal data.
3. No account or journal cloud
No account is required. The current app does not upload journal entries to a Youmotion backend and does not provide cloud sync, cloud backup, or account recovery. It includes no ads, marketing analytics, cross-app tracking, or crash-reporting SDK.
4. Local notifications
If you grant notification permission, optional reminders are scheduled on your device. Youmotion does not register for a remote push token and does not use remote push notifications.
5. Export, restore, and feedback
You can export a JSON backup, preview and restore a backup, and delete local entries. After export, the backup is under your control and may be processed by the sharing service you choose. The optional feedback flow opens your email app. A screenshot is attached only after your explicit consent; your email provider then processes the message under its own terms.
6. Technical app updates
The app may check for and download compatible maintenance updates over HTTPS through Expo Application Services, provided by 650 Industries, Inc. The request can include technical data such as operating system, app and runtime version, project or release channel, a random installation identifier, and the IP address necessarily transmitted with the request. Journal entries, notes, beliefs, and other user-entered content are not included.
The purpose is secure and reliable app delivery. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Expo and necessary hosting/CDN providers act under their applicable service and data-processing terms. Processing in the United States may occur subject to applicable safeguards under Chapter V GDPR. Technical logs are retained only as necessary for delivery, security, troubleshooting, and legal obligations.
7. App stores
Apple and Google distribute the app and independently process store-account, purchase, device, and diagnostic data under their own privacy policies. Youmotion does not receive your journal content through the stores.
8. Retention and deletion
Journal data remains on your device until you edit or delete it, uninstall the app, or replace it through restore, subject to operating-system backup behavior. “Delete all moments” is irreversible inside the app and does not delete backup files you previously exported.
9. Your rights
Where applicable, you have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability regarding personal data processed by the controller. Contact info@thorgas.com. You may complain to a supervisory authority, including the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
10. Children and changes
Youmotion is not intended for children and is not a medical, diagnostic, treatment, crisis, or emergency service. We update this policy when the app or its data processing changes and publish the effective date above.
